Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting residents with their daily activities, which may include bathing and dressing, taking vital signs, and collecting information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, and providers. The CNA plays a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of residents by answering calls, observing skin integrity changes, turning and repositioning residents, and transferring them to beds, chairs, or wheelchairs. The CNA is also tasked with maintaining cleanliness in the resident care area by changing sheets and restocking supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Take and record vital signs.
• Collect information from caregivers, nurses, and providers regarding conditions and treatment plans.
• Answer resident calls promptly and efficiently.
• Observe residents for changes in skin integrity and report findings.
• Turn and reposition residents to ensure comfort and prevent pressure sores.
• Transfer residents safely to and from beds, chairs, or wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness in the resident care area, including changing sheets and restocking necessary supplies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current California License as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending).
• Ability to work under pressure and relate to residents, families, and long-term care staff.

Schedule

This position requires day shift availability, working 12-hour shifts.
