Registered Nurse - High Risk Labor and Delivery

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), working every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our High Risk Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in high acuity and fast-paced environments, particularly in high-risk obstetric care. This role requires active participation in the care of midwifery clients, private OBs, and neonates while adhering to AWHONN guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Baby Nurse during delivery, continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
• Provide essential newborn care, including eye and thigh assessments, and administer Vitamin K injections.
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage antepartum patients.
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC for charting.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including social services, pharmacy, and respiratory services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high-risk L&D.
• Current RN license and proof of active compact license.
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP.
• Preferred certifications: ACLS and AWHONN Advanced Intermediate.
• Must provide supervisory references and pass clinical review.
