Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides care for high-risk patients in a fast-paced environment. This role involves monitoring and assisting during labor and delivery while providing essential newborn care. The nurse will also float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support during high-risk deliveries.
• Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery.
• Provide care to newborns, including assessments and administration of necessary medications.
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and respond to abnormal findings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high acuity labor and delivery.
• Current supervisory references and proof of required certifications are mandatory.
• Must possess a valid compact RN license.
• Preferred certifications include ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate.
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP.
