Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory treatments and facilitating patient transport as prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans while ensuring that patients are educated about their care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments utilizing various ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning via multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography, and conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Assist in respiratory care procedures such as Bronchoscopy and Chest Tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, including the insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.
• Conduct arterial punctures and maintain patient records with accurate documentation of treatments.
• Collaborate with attending physicians regarding therapy effectiveness and ensure proper communication during shift transitions.
• Maintain and monitor ventilatory equipment, facilitating preventative maintenance as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Current Respiratory Therapist licensure with relevant certifications is required. Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
