Schedule

This position requires 12-hour night shifts, with weekends scheduled as needed. Shifts run from 1900 to 0730.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry unit is responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions. The unit consists of 43 semi-private beds, with a mix of private accommodations, and maintains a high patient turnover, facilitating rapid admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting cardiac strips and responding to changes in health status.
• Administer medication and titrate intravenous drips, including Heparin.
• Conduct admissions and discharges efficiently, coordinating care with healthcare teams.
• Utilize teamwork and support fellow staff members in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform additional tasks such as EKGs, assisted by Patient Care Technicians as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Ability to read cardiac strips and manage patients with complex cardiac issues.
• Experience with Heparin titration required; familiarity with telemetry equipment preferred.
