Registered Nurse - Medsurg and Cardiac Observation

This is a 13-week contract position working 12-hour night shifts, including weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medsurg and Cardiac Observation Unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in managing diverse patient needs and be proficient in cardiac monitoring. This unit operates at a fast pace and requires the ability to handle a high volume of admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including reading EKG strips.
• Administer medications such as set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone.
• Provide care for various diagnoses including COPD, CHF, and post-cath patients.
• Conduct assessments, document patient care, and manage necessary equipment including Bipap and Cpap.
• Maintain compliance with protocols for patient safety and quality of care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience with EKG interpretation and managing cardiac drips is essential.
• Familiarity with TR Bands is a plus.
