Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Night shifts, 3x12-hour schedule (18:45 - 07:15).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in a medical/surgical telemetry unit, managing a diverse range of medical diagnoses. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, individualized care planning, and executing therapeutic interventions. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, particularly for patients with conditions such as dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, and sepsis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patient vital signs and conditions.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as per protocols.
• Utilize telemetry for remote patient monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias.
• Provide wound care and manage feeding tubes and colostomies.
• Conduct pre/post hemodialysis management and blood product administration.
• Implement isolation precautions for COVID and other infectious diseases.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
• Respond effectively to emergencies utilizing the Rapid Response Team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start.
• Experience with Epic or similar charting systems preferred.
