Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

Schedule

This position requires availability for weekend shifts: either Saturday from 4 PM to 7 AM and Sunday for a double shift or Saturday from 11:30 PM to 7 AM and Sunday from 4 PM to 11:30 PM. We are open to utilizing two individuals for weekend coverage.

Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will operate CT scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues to assist in diagnosing medical issues. The role includes accurately interpreting physician instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating equipment, and properly positioning patients to capture optimal images. Technologists should maintain adherence to safety protocols due to radiation exposure risks associated with CT scans.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and assist with inpatient portable x-ray orders during assigned shifts.
• Administer contrast materials and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Position patients for optimal imaging results as per physician directives.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment.
• Follow all radiological safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduated from an A.M.A approved school for radiologic technology.
• Licensed in New York State as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Advanced certification as an MRI technologist.
• Current ARRT certification.
• Certified by NYS for contrast injections as required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a radiologic technology role is required.
