CT Technologist

Schedule

4x10.0 Shift: Monday - Thursday, 9:30 PM - 8:00 AM EST; on call, callback, holidays as per unit needs.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate records. The role includes collaboration with physicians and direct interaction with patients to facilitate their comfort during imaging processes.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to scans.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide and optimize diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare and educate patients about the CT scanning procedure.
• Insert IVs when necessary to facilitate imaging tests.
• Position patients appropriately, applying safe patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC, including identifying and ensuring proper transmission of images to PACS.
• Ensure a clean and safe scanning environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State Licensure (must be obtained prior to starting position).
• Minimum of two years' experience, including Level 1 Trauma Center experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification (must be willing to complete during orientation).
• Experience with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment.
