Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality nursing care by adhering to the nursing care plan and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position emphasizes patient and employee safety by ensuring compliance with organizational safety protocols. The RN is accountable for direct patient care, documentation, and effective communication with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring that care and education are delivered effectively.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through calm direction and support to staff and patients.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift for CIRH only.
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires weekend coverage on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the night shift (3x12.0).
