Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 13-Week Assignment

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of delivering superior quality care and promoting patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing patient education and quality outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate any changes in patient status to relevant care providers to support continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective decision-making and organizational skills.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in team building activities to create a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and seek professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (applicable in specific settings).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.

Schedule

This position is for a Day shift, 3x12.0 hours a week, with an open option for a 48-hour assignment within a 13-week contract duration.
