Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse will provide specialized care for patients aged 0 to 25 years in a high-acuity setting. The role includes monitoring and managing patients with complex medical conditions, including epilepsy, and utilizing advanced care techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Perform epilepsy monitoring and handle specialized medical equipment.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures.
• Educate families on patient care and discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in pediatric intensive care.
• Active Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
• Experience with EKGs and inotropes is mandatory.
• NIHHS certification preferred.
