Operating Room (OR) Surgical Technologist

Schedule

This position follows a rotating shift schedule consisting of 4 ten-hour shifts per week. Shifts will cover days, evenings, and nights, with mandatory call and weekend shifts required.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support in the surgical environment, specifically in the Operating Room. Key duties include collaborating with surgical teams, ensuring the operating room is sterile and prepared for procedures, and assisting in a variety of surgical specialties including General, Orthopedic (total joints), Neurological (Cranial & Spine), Vascular, Trauma, Robotics (DaVinci), and Transplant surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assist during surgical procedures, ensuring all instrumentation is accounted for and readily available.
• Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical process.
• Prepare the operating room prior to surgeries and clean it post-operatively.
• Work collaboratively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals.
• Respond to call shifts as required, including weekends and holidays.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room over the last 3 years; 3 years preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Level 1 Trauma center.
• Minimum of 1 year of travel experience within the past 3 years.
• Proficient in multiple surgical specialties: General, Orthopedic (total joints), Neurological (Cranial & Spine), Vascular, Trauma, Robotics (DaVinci), and Transplant.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
