Schedule

Shift: 7A - 7P, with a guarantee of 48 hours per week. Every 3rd weekend, with two Mondays and Fridays required per 4-week scheduling period.

Job Description

The Surgical Specialty Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in medical-surgical nursing and a thorough understanding of post-operative care. The unit is fast-paced, handling diverse surgical cases. The ideal candidate will provide total patient care with a focus on high-quality, compassionate service.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and provide care to patients post-surgery.
• Manage and monitor various intravenous therapies and equipment.
• Administer medications, including blood transfusions and nutritional supplementation.
• Perform procedures such as ostomy management, NGT placement, and Foley catheter management.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Education and support for patients and families regarding care plans and recovery processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing is essential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced skills in post-operative care required.
