This position operates on a 5-day work schedule with an 8-hour shift from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist provides therapy services to patients referred by physicians, including assessment, treatment plan development, and implementation, along with follow-up and discharge planning. Responsibilities also include assisting with clinical aspects of the department, supervising and coordinating programs, and ensuring productivity standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess the physical and cognitive abilities of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
• Adhere to policies and procedures regarding documentation, including evaluations and progress notes.
• Participate in patient care and family conferences, in-service programs, and departmental meetings.
• Provide counseling to patients and families regarding treatment and care plans.
• Oversee and coordinate student programs and volunteer activities within the department.
• Support departmental operations, including scheduling to assure quality patient coverage and supervision.
• Maintain awareness of community resources for appropriate referrals.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's, Master's, or entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Mexico.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
