Operating Room Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Full-Time: 4x9s (36 hours per week) with shifts from 6:30 AM/7:30 AM to 3:30 PM/4:30 PM.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to circulate various service lines, including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, GI, Spine, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a community hospital setting, often as the sole OR RN on site during call hours.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care while promoting comfort and emotional support.
• Support education for patients and families regarding self-care post-discharge.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention strategies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN Licensure in New York State.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification (all through AHA/RQI).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the Operating Room with circulator experience.
• Ability to float to other units as required.
