Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

4x9 schedule (36 hours per week) with call responsibilities, including two full weekends of call and one weekday per week. Shift start times vary: 6:30 AM (Pre-Op), 7:00 AM (Circulator/Tech), or 7:30 AM (Post-Op).

Job Description

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. The RN assesses patient needs, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and develops individualized care plans. The focus is on ensuring patient comfort, promoting safety, and facilitating effective self-care education post-discharge.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing knowledge and skills in delivering direct patient care.
• Assess patient and family needs through active listening and observation.
• Create culturally relevant, individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and healthcare teams.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and families for effective self-care post-discharge.
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional development to improve nursing practice.
• Provide timely responses to call duties with a 1-hour response time.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure.
• Minimum of one year experience in an Endoscopy environment.
• C certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
