Operating Room Surgical Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are rotating, including days, evenings, and nights. Call and weekend shifts are required, with a typical schedule of 4 × 10-hour shifts per week. Call response time is 30 minutes, and in-house call rooms are available for use if needed.

Job Description

The Operating Room Surgical Technologist will support surgical procedures in a fast-paced level 1 trauma environment. Technologists will assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use. Proficiency in orthopedic, neuro, vascular, trauma, and robotic surgeries, specifically Davinci, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are accounted for and functional.
• Communicate effectively with medical team and respond to emergencies promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in the operating room, with a strong preference for 3 years within the last 3 years.
• At least 1 year of experience in a level 1 trauma facility.
• Minimum of 1 year of travel experience within the last 3 years.
• Proficient in general surgery, orthopedic (total joints), neuro (cranial and spine), vascular, trauma, and robotics (especially cardiac procedures).
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
