Registered Nurse - PCU Days Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

DAYS - 12HR: 3A-3P / 7A-7P rotation, 36 hours per week. One weekend shift per week or two weekend shifts every other week, and at least one holiday per contract.

Job Description

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for the East 7 PCU. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute care, particularly in PCU and med-surg/tele environments. The role requires flexibility to adapt to the facility's scheduling needs, including floating to other units as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Monitor patients' health status and manage cardiac drips, ventilators, and acute BiPAP as needed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.

Required Experience and Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in acute PCU and med-surg/tele nursing.
• Must have recent experience with cardiac drips, ventilators, and acute BiPAP.
• Active NY RN license required.
• NIH, AHA BLS, and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• For non-U.S. candidates, 2 years of U.S. work experience is required.
