Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30); Floating required based on facility needs; Weekend requirement: every other weekend; Every other holiday.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN will be a vital part of a team nursing care model working alongside LPNs and PCAs, managing a maximum of 8 patients. Responsibilities include monitoring, interpreting dysrhythmias, administering oxygen, and managing peripheral lines, among other nursing duties.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with medical surgical and telemetry needs.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage their treatment.
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage airway equipment.
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary.
• Provide patient care in compliance with isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
• Current NY State RN license required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
• Experience with team nursing is preferred.
