Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This position offers a schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, guaranteeing 36 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will demonstrate the ability to perform thorough assessments on patients, including pain assessments and appropriate management techniques. The role involves developing and revising care plans based on patient responses, ensuring care is appropriate for the patient's age. The RN must also demonstrate knowledge of medications and their correct administration, follow medication safety protocols, and engage patients and families in education regarding care plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct head-to-toe assessments and pain assessments, utilizing appropriate evaluation methods.
• Develop, revise, and evaluate patient care plans daily for effectiveness.
• Ensure patient care meets the standards concerning age and specific needs.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and pain management techniques.
• Perform technical and manual skills within the scope of licensure.
• Address psycho-social, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Maintain clear communication with healthcare teams and document care accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Postpartum and nursery experience is required.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA are mandatory.
• NRP certification is required.
• Preferred: BSN degree.
• Active Ohio or compact nursing license is necessary.
