Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Telemetry

Schedule

This is a Night 3x12-Hour shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend and holidays as needed. Float is required if needed.

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses, including observation patients and those with respiratory conditions. The candidate will be responsible for managing care related to end-of-life and hospice patients, psychiatric observations, and patients with diabetes complications. The position requires proficient EKG interpretation and passing a mandatory EKG exam during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and overall condition.
• Manage chest tubes, feeding tubes, and IV lines.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventions.
• Provide care for patients experiencing respiratory difficulties.
• Engage in palliative and hospice care for terminal patients.
• Participate in rapid response and code team situations when necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• NY State RN license required.
• Must have experience with Epic charting system.
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and comply with the zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and absences.
• Candidates must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance onboarding.
