CT Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Friday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Requires on-call and holiday coverage with 2-3 call shifts per month.

Job Description

As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This role involves ensuring patient safety, confirming patient identity and exam verification, and coordinating with physicians. You will prepare patients for scans, explain procedures to alleviate anxiety, and use safe patient handling techniques when moving patients with limited mobility.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and verify exams prior to scans.
• Coordinate with physicians to deliver diagnostic imaging services.
• Prepare patients for scanning procedures and explain the process.
• Insert IVs when necessary for the tests.
• Position patients accurately for imaging, employing safe patient handling methods.
• Document all essential components within the EPIC system, ensuring images are sent to the PACS system post-exam.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active CT Technologist license in New York State required.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• Two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Experience with Siemens and Philips imaging equipment preferred.
• Injection therapy certification preferred, or willingness to complete during orientation.
