Job Description

The CT Technologist will be responsible for confirming patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans, strictly adhering to department policies for patient safety. The role requires coordinating with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging and preparing patients for scans to ensure their comfort throughout the procedure. Responsibilities include inserting IVs when necessary, positioning patients safely, maintaining accurate patient records within the EPIC system, and ensuring a clean and safe scanning facility.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to scans.
• Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans, ensuring their comfort.
• Insert IVs when required for tests.
• Position patients safely, including those with limited mobility.
• Document all necessary components within EPIC and manage image uploads to the PACS system.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning area.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered in New York State with injection therapy certification on license.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with Siemens and Philips equipment is preferred.
• Telemetry experience is required.
