Surgical Technician

Job Description

The surgical technician is a vital member of the multidisciplinary surgical team, responsible for preparing and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures. This role requires an understanding of the procedures being performed and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon. Surgical technicians work collaboratively with other team members to ensure high-quality patient care throughout the operative process and function under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Act as the scrub person during surgical procedures.
• Prepare and handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for operations.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon to facilitate efficient surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to maintain quality patient care.
• Participate in the on-call schedule for after-hours urgent and emergent surgical cases.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be certified as a surgical technician.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Broad experience in surgical procedures, especially vascular and orthopedic surgeries.

Schedule

This position requires varying shifts, with a standard schedule of 10-hour days from Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.
