Operating Room Surgical Technician

Schedule

This position requires a 12-hour rotating shift, including days, evenings, and nights. There is also an option for a 48-hour workweek.

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) team is responsible for providing care to a diverse range of patients. The specialties serviced by the OR include orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma. Our facility is a level 1 trauma center equipped with two Davinci robots utilized across multiple services. The transplant program encompasses liver, kidney, and heart transplants.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgical teams by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Scrub in and maintain a sterile environment during surgeries.
• Actively participate in surgical procedures across various specialties.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an operating room.
• Preferred operating room experience in a level 1 trauma center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Able to scrub in to assist during surgical procedures.
