4x9 hour days, with call rotations and weekends as needed.

Job Description

The Certified Scrub Technician participates as a team member in the planning and implementation of nursing care for each patient. They will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and ancillary services to provide safe patient care, demonstrating professionalism and discretion while handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in cleaning instruments and ensuring sterility.
• Select equipment and supplies organized by Surgical Procedure.
• Prepare instrument sets according to preference lists and patient profiles.
• Maintain aseptic technique in accordance with AORN Standards.
• Handle and operate sophisticated equipment effectively.
• Create and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Perform proper surgical hand scrubbing, and don sterile gown and gloves.
• Assist in proper draping of the patient and manage sterile supplies.
• Initiate corrective measures immediately upon detecting breaks in sterile technique.
• Conduct safety and cleanliness assessments of the surgical environment.
• Act as a preceptor and mentor to new employees.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification through AHA or RQI required.
• OR Tech certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a surgical environment required.
