Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Nights, 12 hours, with a 36-hour guarantee per week.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. As a vital member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), you will care for over 4000 cardiology patients annually, supporting procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. You will also manage the care of approximately 300 open heart surgery patients during their initial post-operative period.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to cardiology patients, including pre- and post-operative care.
• Conduct assessments and develop patient care plans.
• Manage and monitor patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical trials managed by the research department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience (floating not considered).
• EKG experience required.
• Must be willing to float to similar units such as Neuro, CVICU, and Trauma (preferred).
• Experience managing ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps is a plus (preferred).
• Current Michigan RN license is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
