Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety and requires proactive engagement in the rehabilitation program.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, creating individualized plans of care.
• Identify teaching needs related to diagnosis and collaborate with patients/families and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate patient information and status during team conferences to ensure continuity of care.
• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care, prioritizing education for patients and their families.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, including patient teaching.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
• Participate in team-building activities to enhance unit functionality and efficiency.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, ensuring the effective completion of duties.
• Assume charge responsibilities following orientation as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific facility only).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position is a night shift role with a 3x12 hour schedule.
