Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants to provide optimal healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized care plan.
• Identify and address patient teaching needs in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate timely and accurate patient information in Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Participate in the rehabilitation program while providing direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating changes in patient status to relevant teams.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks as appropriate.
• Contribute to a safe and positive work environment through calm direction and teamwork.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed and maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• ICU experience preferred.
