Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position with a guaranteed 36-hour week.

Schedule

Night shift: 7 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care to patients. The ideal candidate will have critical care experience and demonstrate strong leadership skills, enabling effective prioritization and delegation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify patient needs, providing quality care tailored to individual clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs.
• Recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations.
• Function effectively in stressful situations, applying strong problem-solving skills.
• Ensure patient safety and the proper use of lifts and equipment for safe patient handling.
• Might assume duties as a charge nurse.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with MEDITECH is mandatory
• Proven travel experience is required
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification during orientation
• Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and defibrillation certification within six months of employment
• Critical Care and charge nurse experience preferred
