Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting in emergency situations, including but not limited to stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. The RN will work in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting with various patient populations, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and triage patients based on acuity.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed.
• Provide emergency interventions for critical patients.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Assist in the management of patients on various drips and medications.
• Maintain a safe and sterile working environment.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have 3+ years of experience in Emergency Department nursing with pediatric experience.
• Current New York State RN license is required.
• Certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Up-to-date skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Travel experience is required for this role.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is necessary.
• Ability to float within the unit as needed.
