X-Ray Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 3x12.0 - 36 hours preferred (would consider 40 hours), on call, with the following schedule:

• Friday: 10:30 AM - Midnight
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - Midnight
• Sunday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts (2-3 call shifts/month).

Job Description

As an X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients. Your duties will include verifying patient identities, reviewing physician orders, positioning patients, and utilizing radiologic equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physician orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
• Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs per physician orders.
• Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and addressing their questions.
• Positioning patients appropriately, which may involve lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
• Maintaining safe usage of radiologic equipment and keeping patient dose as low as possible.
• Producing diagnostic, high-quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist and promptly notifying management of any equipment issues.
• Utilizing electronic patient information systems for accurate record-keeping and image identification.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State license (or able to obtain license prior to starting).
• Two years of experience as an X-ray Technologist, preferably at a Level 1 trauma center.
• Experience using C-arm/O-arm within the last 8 months.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
