Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Nights

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 12-hour night shifts, 48 hours per week. Travelers must be available for two holidays (Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, and surrounding days).

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and collaborating with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care. This role requires flexibility, as nurses may need to float to various Medical Surgical units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse patient population in a Medical Surgical unit.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention.
• Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years current Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• Willingness to float to any Medical Surgical unit as needed.
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course is strongly required.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts RN license must be uploaded with the profile.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required at the time of submission.
• Must have own vehicle for transportation to the assignment.
