Registered Nurse - Med/Surg & Telemetry, Evening Shift
Schedule
32-hour evening shift, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will assess and reassess patient needs, implement care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions while providing high-quality nursing care. This role involves collaboration with healthcare teams, patient and family education, and ensuring safe medication administration.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and goals.
- Provide patient care according to established standards and practices.
- Respect patient individuality and foster dignity and self-regard.
- Educate patients and families based on their learning needs and readiness.
- Plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, integrating necessary support resources.
- Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others effectively.
- Prioritize patient care and seek assistance as needed.
- Document all pertinent data, therapeutic interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
- Promote learning for colleagues and participate in professional development.
- Identify and mitigate risks to patient safety, reporting errors or incidents appropriately.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapy following protocols and physician orders.
- Assess and manage patient pain levels, documenting responses to treatments.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and initiate treatment plans based on assessments.
- Maintain and troubleshoot medical equipment related to patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience preferred.
- 1 year of Telemetry experience preferred.
- 1 year of Pediatrics experience preferred.
- Current MA RN license required.
- ACLS upon hire or active BLS card with ACLS certification within 60 days of hire; PALS preferred.
