Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit RN

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts: 3x12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekdays, with some weekends required.

Job Description

The Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The position requires the ability to manage a varying patient acuity and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with cardiac conditions and other medical/surgical needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions in the Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Manage IVs and administer blood products as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5-2 years of nursing experience in a similar setting.
• At least 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
• 2 years of experience in a Stepdown Unit.
• Current RN License (West Virginia or Compact) required.
• Current certifications in BCLS and ACLS are required.
