Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. This role is responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients and ensures the design of functional treatment programs to facilitate an effective return to community activities. The physical therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves while performing other professional duties associated with patient care and therapy service development.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop treatment plans focused on progressing patients toward discharge.
- Document medical records clearly, concisely, accurately, and timely, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and clinic policies.
- Participate in student programs as assigned, providing supervision and development of learning objectives.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study; apply learned information to meet strategic objectives.
- Adhere to the discipline-specific State Practice Act and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
- Understand and follow organizational performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 6 months to 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
- CPR Certification.
- Active and applicable state license for where work will be performed.
- Prior experience with Select Medical is a plus.
Schedule
This is a 5x8.0 schedule, with evaluations scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-ups every 30 minutes.
