Registered Nurse - Full-Time

Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse practices independently within the same or similar clinical setting and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, with the ability to establish long-range goals or plans. The nurse will develop the skills needed to cope with and manage contingencies in clinical nursing, while making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols; monitor patients for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources available.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
• Registered Nurse License in the state of Texas or compact license.
