Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees in a collaborative healthcare environment focused on patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify patient teaching needs and goals by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process focused on education and patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision of nursing personnel, delegating appropriately.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety per hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to team dynamics and support efficient functioning of the unit.
- Maintain communication regarding service needs with management and senior nursing staff.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift for specific locations.
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of ICU experience highly desired.
Schedule
This position involves a night shift schedule of 7 PM to 7:30 AM, operating on a 3x12.0 hour format.
