Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a demanding environment. The ideal candidate will be adept at assessing patient conditions, implementing care plans, and responding to life-saving situations. Critical care nurses play a vital role in managing patients who have experienced severe medical issues such as heart attacks, strokes, and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Assessing patient conditions and developing patient care plans.
• Providing advanced life support and treatment for wounds.
• Assisting physicians with procedures.
• Monitoring and recording patient vital signs.
• Ensuring the proper function of medical equipment, including ventilators.
• Administering intravenous fluids and medications.
• Collaborating with the critical care team and advocating for patients.
• Providing education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 3 years of recent RN ICU experience in an Acute Care or LTAC facility.
• Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, wound care, and central lines.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be through the American Heart Association).
• Active Texas RN license or multi-state RN license.
• Ability to float to lower acuity units based on facility needs.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
