Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), weekdays and some weekends. Typically, a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 in emergencies.

Job Description

The Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, planning and implementing care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform patient assessments and interpret telemetry data.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Document all care provided using Cerner EMR and maintain accurate patient records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1.5 to 2+ years of RN experience, including:
• 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
• 2 years of experience in Stepdown nursing.
• Must possess a valid RN license in West Virginia or hold a Compact license.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms.
