Clinical Staff Educator - Day Shift
Job Description
The Clinical Staff Educator reports to the Clinical Education Department Manager and provides education and instruction for clinical staff. Acting as a resource for healthcare education and training programs, this position introduces technical and theoretical concepts through effective teaching strategies. The educator collaborates with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators to develop educational opportunities and utilizes simulation training to enhance learning outcomes. Key responsibilities include promoting continuous improvement alongside the Quality Management team and assisting with Quality Department activities as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform diverse educational duties while maintaining efficiency and composure.
- Plan, direct, and control educational activities; make informed evaluations and decisions.
- Work independently to complete assignments on schedule and communicate barriers to managers.
- Evaluate programs and learning outcomes, implementing changes as necessary.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is respected and managed appropriately.
- Facilitate effective communication and teamwork across departments.
- Participate in required education programs related to DNV standards.
- Support the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
- Complete additional related duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing required (or equivalent experience and certifications with a commitment to obtain a degree within three years).
- Active Oregon RN license required.
- Current certifications in Healthcare Provider CPR, CNOR, ACLS, and PALS.
- Minimum of 5 years of hospital nursing experience, with at least 3 years in the OR.
- Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred experience includes teaching, course development, simulation training, and clinical education.
