LPN Medical Surgical - Night Shift

Schedule

Night shift: 19:00 - 07:00, with weekend requirements every other weekend.

Job Description

The LPN Medical Surgical will be responsible for providing acute care to medical patients, including those with COPD exacerbation, infections, and other complex health issues. The role involves working with a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of an RN in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient assignments and provide direct patient care.
• Conduct vital signs, pain assessments, and intake/output monitoring.
• Administer medications including oral, IM, SQ, and via feeding tubes.
• Perform wound care basics, Foley catheter insertion, and clean catch urine collection.
• Monitor telemetry and perform 12-lead EKGs as necessary.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the RN or MD.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York Single State LPN license (pending licenses are not accepted).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Acute care experience within the last 2 years.
• EPIC charting experience is required.
