Nursing Supervisor - Night Shift

This position requires three 12-hour night shifts.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer & Director of Nursing, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the hospital. They assume responsibility for the coordination of age-appropriate patient care activities in the absence of the CNO, utilizing knowledge of standards, policies, and procedures outlined for the facility. They coordinate nursing care activities within the nursing services in the absence of the Unit Directors and provide overall management of the facility, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality while supporting the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise hospital operations in the absence of key nursing leadership.
  • Coordinate age appropriate patient care activities.
  • Support nursing care coordination within the nursing services.
  • Manage nursing staff and provide leadership.
  • Utilize clinical proficiency to address patient needs efficiently.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Maine or pending licensure by endorsement.
  • BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of acute care experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with strengths in communication, organization, conflict management, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to function independently and respond efficiently in emergency situations.
