Registered Nurse - PACU Unit (ICU Boarders)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive care to ICU boarders in the PACU unit, primarily managing trauma overflow patients. While previous trauma training is not a requirement, the RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, patients, and their families to assess, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. The role includes floating to the Emergency Department for ICU holds or to other ICU/Stepdown units depending on the census and need.

Responsibilities

• Assessing patient needs and coordinating care with healthcare team members.
• Executing nursing processes and ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
• Directing nursing support staff in a manner that promotes high standards of care.
• Participating in continuous education and professional development.

Schedule

This is a NOC shift position, requiring three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30) for a total of 36 hours weekly. The unit operates from Monday 7am to Saturday 7pm, with no shifts on Sundays.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical specialty preferred.
• Current PA Registered Nurse License is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
