Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
AM Shift: 07:00 – 19:30, 3 × 12-hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours/week. Unit operating hours are Monday 7am to Saturday 7pm, no Sundays.
Job Description
RNs will provide care to ICU boarders in the PACU unit. The expected patient population will primarily consist of trauma overflow cases. While previous trauma training is not required, RNs may be required to float to the ED for ICU holds or to other ICU/Stepdown units based on patient needs and hospital census.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care under the direction of the licensed physician. The RN will apply principles, theories, and current methods and techniques of nursing practice. Using the nursing process, the RN collaborates with patients, their family members/significant others, professional peers, and other healthcare team members to individualize patient care. The RN will also direct nursing support staff in accordance with standards of nursing practice, as well as administrative and departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs in the PACU unit.
- Implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients' families.
- Direct and supervise nursing support staff in the delivery of patient care.
- Float to ED for ICU holds or other ICU/Stepdown units as needed.
- Adhere to standards of nursing practice and departmental policies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an area of clinical specialty (Preferred).
- Current PA Registered Nurse License (Required).
- Basic Life Support certification (Required).
