Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient's needs, goals, and physician direction. This role entails the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, with a focus on designing functional treatment programs to facilitate a successful return to community activities. The therapist also serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers, while performing other professional duties related to patient care and the development of therapy services.
Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive evaluation of assigned patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals.
- Document medical records clearly and accurately in compliance with regulations.
- Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals.
- Participate in student programs, providing supervision, development of learning objectives, and evaluations.
- Maintain licensure in good standing and complete mandated continuing education.
- Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to safety protocols.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and provide feedback for better outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active licensure for the state where the work will be performed.
