Interventional Radiology Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

5x8 hour days with on call/callback/holiday requirements as per unit needs. Call shifts are approximately 5-7 shifts per 7-week time block, including 2-4 weekend call days.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic radiologic images through the selection of appropriate exposure factors and patient positioning. This role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and compassionate patient care while ensuring respect for patient rights.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist Radiologist during procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of radiologic equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Ensure timely completion of all assigned procedures, utilizing downtime for departmental assistance and room turnover.
• Maintain medication security and comply with healthcare service standards for all age groups.
• Effectively communicate and demonstrate competency in interpersonal relationships with patients and team members.
• Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS for documentation and information management.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain confidentiality in patient care modules.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State Licensure (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Two years of experience in a relevant role.
• VIR Certification is preferred.
• ARRT Certification is required.
