Interventional Radiology Rad Tech

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

4x10 hours; Days, including weekends and holidays, with on-call/callback responsibilities as needed (1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month).

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Rad Tech plays a critical role in providing diagnostic images to support the healthcare team in delivering quality patient care. The ideal candidate must possess experience in neuroscience/neurosurgery and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and producing high-quality radiologic images.
• Administer oral contrast as needed per exam and instruct patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
• Assist Radiologist during procedures and operate all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems proficiently.
• Report equipment malfunctions to management and participate in departmental activities to improve performance.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and security regarding patient data and medication.
• Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two (2) years of experience in Radiology, with a preference for interventional radiology experience.
• Licensure as a Rad Tech in the state of New York.
• AART certification required; VIR certification is a plus.
