Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg Telemetry unit. This is a 14-bed overflow unit designed to accommodate ED boarder patients. The role requires competency in phlebotomy and placing IVs. As part of a flexible, dynamic team, RNs will manage patient care in a fast-paced environment, adapting to varying patient needs based on demand.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital sign monitoring and patient assessments.
• Administer medications and manage feeding tubes, Foley catheters, and other medical equipment.
• Communicate patient status changes to the healthcare team using SBAR format.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and safety protocols.
• Provide patient education and support to patients and families.
• Float to care for med/surg patients as needed based on staffing requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in New York required.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry unit.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system is a hard requirement.
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement.
